The client needed to improve efficiency in handling small lots of diverse items due to an increase in the volume and variety of their products. After considering various options, we decided to adopt a voice picking system.
Achieved Benefits
The voice-guided system provides instructions for product codes and quantities, creating a hands-free environment—eliminating the need to carry slips or devices and allowing both hands to be used—as well an eyes-free environment, removing the need to repeatedly check slips against products. This simultaneously improved the speed and accuracy of picking operations. It has also reduced environmental impact through paperless processes.
